PROJECT FNP

It was in 2003 when rock-guru Filo and dance-head Peri had a meeting that would ultimately change both their lives. Who could have envisioned that a combined passion of Poison, Guns'n'Roses and Motley Crue on one side, and Kraftwerk, Underworld and Orbital on the other could result in such an explosive combination of natural ability and awe-inspiring production; Mr Paul Van Dyk's unique vision of talent quickly seemed to.
Catching their track 'Closer Now', featuring LA rock band Fisher, Van Dyk immediately snapped it up for his hugely successful 2005 mix compilation 'The Politics of Dancing 2' (Vandit/Mute). A year later, 'Ordinary Moment' was signed to Vandit, and Filo and Peri debuted at a jaw-dropping #77 in the Top 100 DJ Mag. Before they knew it, Filo & Peri found themselves sitting on a track that had #1 branded all over it. Trance-techno annihilator 'The Anthem' sends shivers down your spine, gives you goose bumps on
your arms, and makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end- all at once. It is literally that good. While quickly shooting straight to the top of the US Billboard Charts, it also did the seemingly impossible and made it into the fiercely fought over UK Top 40. At a time when dance tracks weren't getting anywhere near that kind of commercial success, it spoke volumes about both the quality of production and support by dance fans for 'The Anthem'.
But Filo & Peri haven't confined their musical capabilities to just the recording studio. In the DJ booth, their unmatched enthusiasm and unique mixture of genres is winning them an international army of fans. Whether it's banging progressive beats or soaring vocals, one would be hard pressed to find a body standing still when they take over the dance floor. From their home in the US, or across the Atlantic in the UK, Europe, Asia and beyond, the world is embracing their sonic wizardry.
So what does the future hold? If their new track 'Shine On' (Vandit) is anything to go by, the phrase 'bigger and better' is pretty much spot on. A blistering combination of euphoric synths, driving beats, soaring melodies, beautiful, warm instrumentals and the evocative voice of Eric Lumiere, this is a master's class on how to create peak-time, main-room dance music perfectly. This is only the start of a new era for the boys from New York City. In the words of that infamous house tune. world, hold on!
